Features of Karakara Blocks
Karakara blocks are lightweight, soft to the touch, and easy for children to use. Made from long, thin boards of Miyazaki cedar, they are 100% natural and safe to use. Over time, cedar wood will gradually smooth out, develop an amber color, and become more comfortable in your hands, allowing you to enjoy the natural texture and play for years to come. These blocks are half the size of the Karakara Blocks 108. They can be combined with other sizes of Karakara Blocks to create intricate shapes, or used as a base for Koro Kara Blocks. They are also the perfect size for dominoes. Because each block is made to the same proportions, you can combine them in a variety of ways, creating endless play possibilities and encouraging concentration and imagination.
Handling Precautions
Karakara Blocks are made from naturally dried, natural cedar that has been machined and finished. As natural wood, they may crack as they dry. Also, because they are hand-selected, some blocks may have minor imperfections. Do not use broken blocks. Doing so may result in injury. Storing blocks in a humid environment for extended periods may result in mold.
Dry blocks are made from cedar, which means they absorb moisture easily. If they get wet, wipe them off immediately and let them air dry. Dry blocks may become slightly warped or twisted if left to dry.
Set Contents
Dry blocks (54mm) will gradually turn a natural amber color over time, but this is a characteristic of cedar, so please use them with confidence.
