●As each item is handmade, there may be slight variations in shape, color, texture, etc. Also, the lid may shake, but this does not cause any problem in use. ●As you use it, fine cracks will appear on the surface. This is a characteristic unique to pottery called penetration. The white color is especially noticeable as the soil color is revealed through the cracks. ●When exposed to fire, the outer bottom will burn and turn black, and the image after use will change from when you bought it. This is also a characteristic of pottery.
[Caution] We recommend that you seal the eyes before using the product. Sealing is the care that is performed to prevent unused earthenware pots from cracking, to reduce the transfer of odors, and to keep them strong for a long time. [How to seal] Wash about 2 cups of rice and pour the rice water (or a mixture of potato starch, wheat, etc.) into the pot up to 8 minutes and bring to a boil. After boiling, let it cool, then throw away the water, wash thoroughly, and dry.
*When cleaning, use a detergent specifically for tableware and wash thoroughly with water. *When washing, please use a soft sponge. *After use, wash thoroughly and dry before storing.
*If you put it on fire while the bottom is wet, it may cause a malfunction, so please wipe off the moisture thoroughly before putting it on fire. *Do not cool down the product rapidly while it is hot, or place it directly on a cold place such as a tile or stainless steel stand. *The pot and lid are dangerous during and after heating due to high temperatures. Please be careful. Be sure to use a dish towel or pot holder. *Please avoid empty firing. *Do not touch the steam or water coming out from the gap in the lid as it is very hot. *Since it is made of ceramic, please note that it may be damaged if dropped or subjected to impact. *Cannot be used with IH equipment. *Do not use for fried foods. *If you place the heated product directly on a table, etc., it may be damaged or deformed, so be sure to use a trivet. *Please be careful not to use metal scrubbers or abrasive detergents as they may scratch the surface. *Due to the characteristics of the raw material clay and glaze, there may be slight differences in the size, shape, color, texture, and mass of each product. *Dishes with strong odors may leave a smell on the pottery.
The pottery at Kamoshika Dougu Shop is made from Banko-yaki, a traditional craft from Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, and is made from potter's clay that contains a lot of petalite, which is highly heat-resistant and durable. In particular, the china clay used in this rice pot has its own proprietary blend of Petalite to maximize its properties. It is designed to prevent deterioration and damage such as "cracking" that tends to occur with continued use. In addition, the glaze is made with ``Petalite'', making it a rice pot that can withstand direct fire (even dry cooking).
