This compilation brings together rare and unique songs that combine pop songs sung in Okinawa's unique musical scale with rock and soul grooves.
The album is based on the 2003 release of the much-talked-about "Ryukyu Rare Groove" and its sequel, "Ryukyu Rare Groove 2," released in 2006.
This album is a revised version of those tracks, featuring even more carefully selected tracks and new additions.
This compilation features 14 rare tropical groove songs, including songs by the iconic Yara Families, the originator of Okinawan folk rock, Shokichi Kina, Mitsuko Sawamura, who made her debut in American musical films from Okinawa, and jazz singer Teiko Saito (Teiko Taira), who released her debut album at the age of 86 in 2022.
