More accurate than an overhang gauge: Rather than simply using an overhang gauge to adjust the length, this cartridge alignment protractor allows you to adjust the trace angle of the stylus at two points, the outer circumference (120.9mm) and the inner circumference (66.03mm). The two-point alignment method conforms to the Baerwald alignment and is compatible with a variety of arms.
For all audiophiles: Adjusting the needle position and angle is just as important as adjusting the needle pressure. With a typical offset arm, noises such as distortion, muddiness, and buzzing occur when the tracking point moves from the inner circumference to the outer circumference. This template allows you to check the exact tracing position to minimize this tracking error.
How to use: Set the template hole on the spindle, move the tonearm to point A (120.9mm), loosen the cartridge mounting screw and adjust the position so that the cartridge is horizontal and perpendicular to the template. Next, move the arm to point B (66.03mm) while slightly rotating the turntable, and adjust it so that it is perpendicular to the template. Return to point A again, check the angle, and repeat until both points are aligned.
