The EF510-500 series is an AC/DC electric locomotive introduced in 2009 to replace the EF81 series used to pull the Hokutosei and Cassiopeia trains.
It was transferred to JR Freight in 2013 and, along with the 0 series, is currently in service mainly on the Japan Sea Trunk Line.

This model recreates the blue-painted EF510-500 series, a former Hokutosei locomotive.
The headlights are equipped with a constant-on circuit board.
The headlights are illuminated by warm-colored LEDs.
The front handrail (vertical) is included as a separate part.
The JR mark is printed on the front.
The license plate (EF510-501, 506, 511, 515) is included as a separate part.
The signal flares and whistle are included as separate parts.
Dummy couplers and a self-coupling TN coupler are included.
