Fine Molds 1/35 Military Series Imperial Japanese Army Type 97 Te-Ke Light Armored Car Plastic Model MR03. The Type 97 Te-Ke was developed for reconnaissance, reconnaissance, and liaison purposes as a successor to the Type 94 Light Armored Car (TK), a lightly-equipped light tank that contributed to the mechanization of the Japanese Army from the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War (China Incident). Its compact and lightweight body is said to be among the best of its kind in the world, and two versions were produced: a 7.7mm machine gun version and a 37mm tank cannon version. This vehicle was primarily deployed to the Reconnaissance Regiment, a mobile reconnaissance unit formed from a cavalry regiment. It was also deployed to many units, including tank regiments, for liaison purposes, and by the Marine Corps.
