From Pit-Road is the "1/350 Skywave Series Japanese Navy Coast Defense Ship Type He Early Production Etched Parts with Gun Barrel" plastic model kit.
The Japanese Navy did not fully recognize the need for coastal defense ships at the beginning of the naval battle, but as the war intensified and damage to transport ships and other vessels increased, construction of these ships became a top priority for escort purposes.
